App At A Time
App name: OneFeat
What it does: Encourages you to do small things that make you happier and share them with the world. It’s a game built on top of life.
How I most often use it: I’m not into gamifying life just for the sake of it, but it can be fun to do something you wouldn’t have otherwise thought of if you have a second or two of downtime. Like taking a picture of the view out your bedroom window — it’s of a parking lot that used to be a gas station, with some odd busses; when else would I be compelled to capture that? But it’s definitely a significant part of my life, since I see it regularly.
Has it replaced anything else in your life?: Eh, maybe some other time killing apps?
Most pleasing interaction: For me, it was getting the best push notification ever: “Puppy superliked your feat for the mission Show us your baby face [+200pts]” (this happened well after the fact and I was with friends who saw it with no context for what it meant)
Other comments: I’d categorize this app as more “neat” than “useful,” but it’s definitely worth downloading, if only to scroll through their list of proposed activities.
